Thusharagiri Waterfalls Travel Guide

Thusharagiri Waterfalls is a popular tourist spot located in Kozhikode District of Kerala. Thusharagiri is situated in the Western Ghats mountain ranges and is in the eastern side of Kozhikode District. This place attracts many visitors from around the country. There are several other waterfalls situated around Thusharagiri Waterfalls.  Thusharargiri is one of the favourite spots for trekkers and nature enthusiasts. Thusharagiri forest joins with Wayanad forests as Kozhikode and Wayanad are neighbouring districts.  The trekking trail from Thusharagiri to Vythiri at Wayanad District will be an amazing experience for trekkers.

Among the several waterfalls in the area, the easily accessible ones are Earattumukku, Thanni Muthassi and Mazhavil Chattam falls. They are located within 500 meters from the Thusharagiri waterfalls. Another fall, Thumpi thullum para waterfall is situated one kilometer away from Thusharagiri. If you can go deep into the woods, there are many other waterfalls in 5 kilometers inside the forest.

The hike through the dark forest may not be comfortable to everyone. There is a rare possibility of encounter with wild animals during the forest trek. So, If you are ready for some adventures, you can enjoy the Thusharagiri visit to the fullest.

Thusharagiri is located about 51 kilometers away from Kozhikode Town. The nearest towns are Kodenchery (11 km) and Thamarasseri (17 km) . the nearest Bus station to Thusharagiri is at Kodencheri. The nearest Railway station is  Calicut Railway Station (CLT) (52 km). The nearest Airport is Calicut International Airport (CCJ) (50 km). You can avail Taxis at Kodencheri town which is 11 km away from Thusharagiri.  Regarding the availability of food, No restaurants are present there near the waterfalls. There are a few restaurants at Kodenchery town. There are a few lodging facilities available near the waterfall. More hotels are available at nearby towns Kodenchery or Thamarassery.

Thusharagiri waterfalls never become dry at any season of the year. So we can visit this place at any time round the year. But Monsoon (June to August) will not be a good selection, because it will be difficult to reach there. Slippery rocks and leeches in the forest too are the other factors. the best time to visit Thusharagiri waterfalls is after monsoon, That is the months from September to December.
